How Zara Face works

Everything you need to go from sign-up to your first recorded take, in about five minutes.

What you need

💻 A laptop or desktop

With the latest Google Chrome. Zara Face works best on a computer. Phones can work, but the camera stops if you switch apps or lock the screen.

📷 A webcam

The built-in laptop camera is fine. An external HD webcam looks even better.

💡 Good light on your face

Face a window or a lamp. Avoid strong light behind you.

📶 A stable internet connection

Wi-Fi, or a strong 4G/5G signal. Live video uses a lot of data, so make sure you have enough, and avoid connections that keep dropping.

Step by step

    Sign up free

    Create an account with your email or Google. You must be 18 or older.

  2. 2

    Buy credits in naira

    Go to Buy credits and pick a pack, or choose your own amount. 1 credit = 1 second, at about ₦55 per credit. You pay securely with Paystack.

  3. 3

    Open the Studio and turn on your camera

    The camera preview is free. Use it to check your lighting and framing.

  4. 4

    Choose a face

    Upload a clear, front-facing photo (JPEG, PNG or WebP, at least 512 × 512 pixels) of a face you have the right to use, and tick the box to confirm.

    Reserve your seconds and press Start

    Billing starts when your session connects, including a short warm-up of about 5 to 10 seconds. You'll see "Warming up your character..." and then your character appears.

  6. 6

    Record and stop

    Press Record to save the take to your computer. Press Stop when you're done: unused seconds go straight back to your balance.

Tips for great results

  • ✓ Use a sharp, well-lit, front-facing portrait with the whole face visible.
  • ✓ Match your camera angle to the photo: if the photo is straight-on, face the camera.
  • ✓ Keep your face lit and centred; a plain background helps.
  • ✓ Move naturally. Very fast head turns can blur the effect.
  • ✓ Close other apps and browser tabs that use the internet or camera.
  • ✓ Do a short 30-second test take before a long recording.

Paying in naira

All prices are in naira. Payments go through Paystack, using your debit card or the other options Paystack offers at checkout. We never see your card number.

Paystack's card fee is added at checkout, and we show an estimate before you pay. Credits usually arrive within seconds. If yours haven't after 30 minutes, contact us with your payment reference (it starts with "zf-").

The rules

  • • Only use your own face, an original character, or the face of someone who clearly agreed.
  • • Never impersonate real people, run scams, make sexual content, use images of anyone under 18, or harass anyone.
  • • Always say it's AI when you share, and don't remove the watermark.
